Understanding the users 

Contractors told us they wanted:

- Instant access to funds without bureaucratic hurdles
- Clear visibility into spending and balances
- Flexibility to manage multiple cards for different projects
- Local relevance—tools that worked seamlessly in their region

How we fixed it: we made it convenient

- Added prominent homepage banners to boost awareness
- Created a dedicated card widget for quick actions and balance checks
- Integrated card management into core workflows, reducing friction

We enriched card management

- Redesigned the main card screen to highlight key actions and spending insights
- Enabled multi-card creation, allowing contractors to manage separate budgets
- Improved transaction views with CSV export for better record-keeping.

We built a foundation for future growth

- Laid groundwork for a cashback program (coming soon)
- Added top-up functionality via Deel advance for seamless funding
- Enhanced customer communications to reduce confusion and support requests

The results: progress with room to grow

While adoption improved, there were still ongoing challenges—particularly around local banking integrations and ATM access. Still, the redesign and UX improvements demonstrated clear value:

- Higher engagement with the card widget and spend insights
- Reduced support tickets through clearer communication
- Strong revenue growth

What's next?

We're committed to making the Deel card indispensable for contractors by:

- Expanding local banking partnerships
- Enabling ATM withdrawals
- Launching the cashback program
- Continuing to refine the experience based on user feedback
